About me

Right now, I am based at the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement as Senior Director of Research and Product development.  We help health care systems, clinicians and patients to put patients at the centre of decision making in order to deliver value-based health care.  I am responsible for the team that develops core outcome sets which reflect the outcomes that are most important to patients.

 

Over the past 13 years, I have worked with many companies in my time at NICE and in the private sector.  I was a Senior Scientific Adviser with NICE Scientific Advice for 7 years, and co-developed the Medtech Early Technical Assessment tool (META).  I’ve supported many companies seeking to bring their new technology to market, including medtech, diagnostics, digital health technologies (including AI/ML technologies), as well as pharmaceuticals.  More recently, I was at IQVIA in the Value and Payer Evidence team, helping companies to overcome the challenges of bringing exciting new products to the global market in order to benefit patients.  I have mostly worked with UK HQ clients in pharma, but have also worked across Europe with EU HTA as well as the medtech sector.

 

I also have a longstanding interest in training and education.  I have a strong academic background, including a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  I have developed and delivered numerous training programmes and engagements over the years.  I was the NICE lead for the NICE-LSE Executive MSc Healthcare Decision-Making, developed the META training programme, and lead smallpox and influenza outbreak war-games at LSHTM for over a decade.
